[attr="class","light"] it was no coincidence that the institution of evol was partnered with the league's greatest. they were, in one way or another, a key piece to the facility zenji is fortunate to run. as they entered the ruin that was sealed off from the public, zenji would come to respond to the famous councilman.

"zenji's fine, formalities are the last thing i care about."

dusting the sand off of his person. he would come to examine what they were able to see upon revealing a flashlight. behind them stood his lucario carrying key research equipment for their little excursion. "it's an honor to be partnering with one of hoenn's sharp councilman." a small gesture would signal for lucario to hand him his computer.

as lucario gathered zenji's tool. he would come to notice the silph scope currently being displayed, "the infamous neurotech developed by your company." to see it in person was something. "rumor has it it's like a miniature pokedex and more..." he was fascinated by the tech.

Fernando pauses.

"Surnames feel more natural for me but your name rolls off the tongue quite well, Zenji."

It's small, useless talk but something that can be used to kill the silence of the ruins. Their chatter echoes in the empty draft of the temple's chamber, providing an eerie answer to how large the room is. Fernando scans over each wall with little regard for Zenji or his Lucario. Until something substantial pops up, they're better off taking the divide and conquer method.

"Oh," Fernando smiles at the insight. It's not often people pay attention to prototype technologies that have little use. The newest edition of the Silph Scope is by all means cutting edge, but to the traditional trainer, it's useless once they become well verse enough in local Pokemon. For those who lack that experience though, it is essential, taking out the need for experience, allowing even the most newbie trainer get accelerated onto being a mid-tier battler.

"We're still looking to improve a lot of the side features before releasing a patch but I'm glad to see someone else recognizes it. They're expensive but if you're looking for a copy feel free to submit an application to Silph Co. for an academic licenses grant. I'd be happy to see it find some commercial use in academic circle."

The temple walls tell a tale of an old civilization fraught with sacrifice. Human shapes stand in line with all of them waiting in line for a giant fountain. Above the fountain is the image of someone lying horizontal, red splotches over their chest, an obvious sign of a sacrificial ritual.

The mural reminds him of his first venture into the Regirock ruins and the haunting discoveries they found.

"What do you know about these ruins, Zenji?"

[attr="class","light"] conversation on the scope would have to continue later. though, he was definitely interested in adding a possible addition to the mechanism's inner working. for now, the topic at hand.

"that it poses a similarity to the desert ruin exploration the league partook in where some child died."

he wasn't fully verse on the ruin raid that occurred sometime long ago, but he read up on it. "the dangerous discovery of this ruin is no different from the first." it didn't take some brilliant detective to piece the puzzle together. "if i'm not mistaken we've only recently come to discover this location, yeah?"

upon feeling the wall and examining the mural before them. zenji could only deduce probably one or two conjectures, but before doing so he'd say this,"it's too dangerous to dive deep, and i'm not exactly willing to risk my life for the past at this time." continuing on with his spiel, he would add, "but there's a high probability we may be heading into a second quarter similar to the first." there was no reason that led to this, but this is the second ruin the league has come to discover.

"if this is a part two of the first, then we're not finding anything up here. at best we may get a story if we continue to explore the walls, but we're gonna need to take pictures so we can decipher them back at the lab..." zenji continued to skim the wall. staring at the picture indicating a sacrificial ritual. "for now this isn't much to go on. are there anymore murals?"

Fernando pauses to listen to the man’s conjecture and surprisingly enough he makes perfect sense. Hearing this type of common sense and piecing together point to point is god send in this logic forsaken land. His impression of the Professor goes up as he fills in some of the blanks.

“Our initial belief is that the topography of the desert is causing the temple to shift along with the sands. It’s all one huge site that constantly ends up being buried and resurfacing as the earth moves.”

He takes his time soaking in the murals before nodding no. “Nothing that’s particularly different. Not without diving further.”

He stops short of the other man and glances at the sacrifice as well.

“We ran into this on our first expedition. We offered fresh blood, more than a drop but not enough to cause harm, to a fountain and it opened the doors to Regirock.”

He pauses, thinking back.

“I expected a bit more than just opening a door but never questioned it.”

[attr="class","light"] zenji had only a short time to read the brief summary of that raid. there were a series of statements in the report that stood out to him. sigils, the spirit of a wailord, the malfunctioning of psychic-type abilities. it's honestly a mystery as to how they all survived.

"we owe all to the pokemon who lost their lives here. to calm the storms, open the door, with willing blood. for beyond it the titan pokemon waits."

he recited, in one sitting, the wording that was written in persephone amavi's statement of what she discovered in the expedition. "let's call it a miracle you weren't met with anything other than that 'titan'." if what they dealt with in the first chamber proved anything, it's that the second chamber that possibly resided beneath ( or above ) them may be no different.

"lucario, to me." lucario would come to hand the researcher his laptop. opening the device while placing his flashlight into the palm of his pokemon. he'd call out his porygon next. zenji would begin to type upon his device with a single. afterwards, he'd look to the porygon. "initiate protocol: 'pk-iat001', trace on." the porygon would come to emanate a holographic grid that would, in rhythm, pulsate on and off at a rate similar to a human heartbeat.

eventually, it would stop. he'd look to FERNANDO SILPH and then back to his device, "i hope you've got a raid team assembled, because we're getting waveform distortions." which would lead him into his explanation of this finding, "do you recall reading a report, or ever experiencing first hand," since fernando was well-known for taking to the field himself, "an unusual malfunction of psychic-type pokemon abilities during a raid?"

there was a reason zenji chose to come here and boy was he glad he had.

He’s not sure where Zenji’s going with this which means choosing him had been the correct decision. The fact that this is the most anyone’s really delved into the subject, aside from persephone amavi, is an astonishing statement to the decline of Hoenn’s exploration studies. Silph Co. had been used to recuperate those who had survived but that data sits unused somewhere in Fernando’s database.

“Someone’s TELEPORT malfunctioned when trying to venture deeper into the cave. Other Psychic moves seems to work with some variables. Telekinesis seemed to hold to a degree but would falter at times.”

His own Kirlia had been a prime example of that. It’s PSYCHIC couldn’t hold up the boulders that eventual crushed her underneath. His own conjecture on the situation never went much further due to a lack of evidence or ability to test.

“Where are you going with this?”

this report included arian coin's. those who were there to witness the phenomenon included a plethora of others. "if i'm not mistaken, it was a series of one of the first three ultra beast to appear, it's name dubbed 'guzzlord'." a name that made him groan in disgust each time he uttered it. whoever came up with these names needed to properly scolded.

"there was a distortion in the usage of their psychic-type's "teleportation" as well. thankfully, there was a reading done by one of aether foundation's esteemed heads during that entire arc." gathering the files while he spoke, lucario remained at ease. casually awaiting for another order. "i have the file here on the computer to the compare the distortions being emanated in these very ruins as we speak."

before his venture to these ruins, zenji had carefully been studying on what he has dubbed 'AUFWACHEN WAVEFORMS' "these phenomenon's all have a unique wave pattern to them, never before seen." he'd come to show the imagery of both, "on the left side are the ultra wormholes and when you compare that data to the right," he'd come to drag his hand to the other side, "these aufwachen waveforms, which i've dubbed, are both unique yet vastly different in pattern. though this side is rather weak due to where we're standing, if we had ventured further in there would be a stronger signal that it would possibly malfunction my computer and kill porygon in the process of its reading."

with just this small window, it was a miracle porygon even obtained a reading. "there's something in this ruin, be it a relic or pokemon, emanating a strong wave practically begging to be discovered." basically, to surmise, "the discovery of this ruin was no coincidence, something has definitely been awoken. whatever it is, i think with all the ultra wormholes that manifested in hoenn there's a possibility they had a hand in the unveiling of this ruin." we should practically be thanking the ultra beasts for this chance snag or uncover whatever was inside.

[attr="class","spiral"]Once Zenji brings up the report about Mossdeep Fernando connects the dots. He’s read over the Mossdeep Invasion too many times to count. Long nights bickering with Isra Nightingale keep each glance over fresh on his mind, the last real time he got to enjoy her presence is anything more than a fleeting catch-up for the day’s agenda.

But never would he have put the two events together. He had chalked it up to coincidence, easily able to explain one without the need for the other.

“Auth-wachengs waveforms?”

Fernando nods along with the explanation, able to keep up despite the name escaping his tongue. The end result suggest what he has already hypothesized. The only difference is Zenji has the credential to back up his claim and provide the authorization he needs to move forward. Between everything else the region has to offer, Fernando will have no chance to follow up on his own, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t others the League can enlist.

“In that case, we should have it shut down until a proper excavation can be put together.”

The only question left is can he mobilize the League before they're beaten by Mauville Miners?

[attr="class","light"]german wasn't his strong suit. who would've thought he had a weakness like that. "not only that, but this data might prove useful to use in the future. we may just be able to find more ruins like." of course it was only a small theory, nothing he was really prepared to tackle at this time.

"for now, i think my work here is done." he could leave the rest up to the councilman. "porygon, lucario, we're returning." man he could really use a cigarette right now.
